AMELIA M. EVANS, age 99, of Worthington, died, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born June 22, 1915 in Odebolt, Iowa to parents Charles and Emma (Landgraf) Auchstetter. Amelia attended school in Marcus, IA.
Amelia was united in marriage to Gunnard Johnson and  made their home in Pierson, IA; and later married Walter Evans in 1964 and they resided in Cherokee, IA. After Walter's death she moved to Worthington in 1981 and became a resident of Crossroads Care Center on August 18, 2005.
She was member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. Amelia enjoyed quilting by hand and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Amelia is survived by her sons, Ronald (Kathy) Johnson, Lakehead, CA; and Dan (Kathy) Johnson, Worthington; four grandchildren, Shannon Zimmerman, Mark Johnson, Danielle Jensen and Ryan Johnson; six great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
A time of fellowship will be Thursday from 4 to 6 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Deacon Vern Behrends. A private memorial service and burial of cremains will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, IA at a later date.
