ANGELINE GOEBEL, age 90, of Worthington, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. Angeline, daughter of Gregor and Mary (Reith) Penning was born September 29, 1921 in Granville, Iowa shere she attended school.
On February 10, 1947 Angeline married Odilo H. Goebel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville, Iowa. After marriage they moved to Worthington and lived on a farm in Worthington Township.
Angie was an active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and also the VFW Auxilliary. She was well known for her crafts, rolls (the roll lady), unique perception of life and sense of humor.
Angeline is survived by her daughter, Boni (Mike) James of Dousman, WI; son, Harvey Goebel of Worthington; daughter, Jorja Goebel of Worthington; son Gene (Mary) Goebel of Worthington; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Goebel of Brandon, SD; brother-in-law and wife, Firman and Roseanne Goebel of Worthington; sister-in-law, Mary Murphy of Cherokee, IA; brother-in-law and wife, Gerald and Mary Ann Goebel of Granville, IA; sister-in-law, Arlene McDermott of Kingsley, IA and brother-in-law, Ray Loutsch of Lemars, IA; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Angie (a twin) was the last one to come into this world and was the last of her 12 siblings to depart. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odilo, son David and grandson Kenny.
