ANITA ELAINE (BOOTS) REKER, age 98, of Adrian, died Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1926, in Hampton, IA, to Ben and Vera (Dirksen) Boots. As a young girl, she farmed with her family in Larkin Township.

Anita married Roman Reker on January 23, 1945, at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Luverne. In 1949, they moved to the farm in rural Adrian. She also worked as a bar maid at the Wilmont Municipal Liquor Store. Anita lived most of her life on their farm in Adrian until moving to Luverne at the age of 93.

She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and the WCCW. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing her lawn in her Pioneer hat, trips to the casino, and playing cards with friends and neighbors.

Anita is survived by her five children: Charlotte Diekmann-Anderson, Fulda; Lyle (Maggie) Reker, Tea, SD; Gary Reker, Adrian; Randy (Natalie) Reker, Adrian; and Theresa (Randy) Holinka, Fulda; fourteen grandchildren: Pat Toben and Troy Reker; Christine Diekmann; Kendra Shade and Luke Reker; Kayse Reker and Mitchell Reker; Dustin Groen and Amanda Groen; Taren Reker, Jordan Reker, Zachary Reker, and Tony Reker; and Cassidy Holinka; four step-grandchildren: Dan Anderson and Kelly Spieker; Kaitlin Holinka and Austin Holinka; daughter-in-law: Nyla Reker, Sioux Falls, SD; and a son-in-law: Dean Groen, Brandon, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman on November 4, 1993; son, Dale Reker; and a daughter, Glenda Groen.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Monday, August 12, at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lismore.
