Obituary

Ann B. Kruse, age 91, of Worthington, passed away at the Sunset Cottage,?in Worthington on April 16, 2007. She was born January 11th, 1916 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jacob and Jennie (Dykstra) Bajema.?She attended schools in Grand Rapids; Grundy Center, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; and graduated from high school in Dubuque, Iowa.? She graduated Cum Laude?with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dubuque University in Dubuque, Iowa.? Ann married Marvin D. Kruse in 1937.? Marvin was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1938.? Together, they served Presbyterian churches in Wabeno, Gresham/Hogerty, Champion and West Allis, Wisconsin as well as Reading, Minnesota; Lake Park, Iowa, Spicer/New London/Atwater, Minnesota. They last served at Edgerton/Leota where they retired in 1977.? They moved to Pleasant Lake near Hackensack, Minnesota.? Ann moved to Worthington, Minnesota in 1986.? Ann was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading and as a Pastor's wife she taught Sunday school, participated in women's groups, played piano and organ and accompanied choirs and quartets?in the various churches.? Although untaught, she became an accomplished pianist and organist.? She also was skilled at knitting and was an expert seamstress.? While living at Champion, Wisconsin she shared a party line with the Green Bay Packers NFL football team.? During that period, Marvin served as an unofficial chaplain to the Packers.? She remained a fan for many years. Ann is survived by her son Robert (Delores) Kruse, Worthington; daughter-in-law, Mona Kruse, St. Clair, MN; five grandchildren Keith, Brian, Janice, Bernice and Linda; eight great grandchildren, sister, Frances Struck, Peoria, AZ; and many nieces and nephews? She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Harold (Jim) and her husband, Marvin.? Memorials will be given to the Hospice Cottage, Inc. of Worthington. Blessed Be Her Memory.
