ANNA MARIE (MENSEN) HEITKAMP, age 80, of Adrian, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 at her home. She was born July 8, 1927 in Adrian to parents Anton and Frances (Kellen) Scheidt. She attended St. Adrian Catholic School in Adrian. After her schooling she remained at home helping her family after her mother?s death. Anna Marie was united in marriage to Alphonse Mensen on April 22, 1947 at St. Adrian Catholic Church. To this union seven children were born. They made their home in Aston, IA and later moved to Adrian where she raised her family. Alphonse preceded her in death on June 2, 1980. She worked as a cook at different steak houses and at the Home Caf? in Adrian. Anna Marie was united in marriage to Joe Heitkamp on July 12, 1985 also at St. Adrian Catholic Church. They made their home in Adrian and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1988. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and also her great grandchildren. Anna Marie also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and collecting dolls and bird figurines. She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Barb) Mensen, Lubbock, TX; Mike (Karen) Mensen, Luverne; four daughters, Claude (Ron) Arends, Magnolia; Frances (Roger) Reese, Bridgewater, SD; Coletta (Patrick) Metz, Adrian and Margaret (Lyle) Reker, Sherburn; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; one brother, and three sisters-in-law, Norb & Shirley Scheidt, Loretta Scheidt and Zelda Scheidt; four step sons, Ray (Janine) Heitkamp, Gordon (Lori) Heitkamp, Alan (Audrey) Heitkamp and Larry (Linda) Heitkamp; one step daughter, JoAnn (Bruce) Suss; 13 step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husband?s, one daughter Patricia Emich and two brothers.
