ANTHONY J. "TONY" LONNEMAN, age 93, of Adrian, died Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He was born December 26, 1931, in Westside Township, rural Adrian, to Antone and Elizabeth (Weidert) Lonneman. He graduated from St. Adrian Catholic High School in 1949. Tony entered the United States Army in 1952. He served his country in Germany during the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged in 1954.
Tony married Rita Lutmer on September 12, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage, the couple farmed south of Adrian. In 1990, they moved to Adrian. Tony became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne, in April of 2022.
He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; and the Adrian American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, fishing & bowling.
Tony is survived by his four children, Tom (Corinne) Lonneman, Adrian; Karen Lonneman, Olivia; Carol (Kim) Sundlee, Montevideo; and Marty (Ginger) Lonneman, Adrian; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Meyer, Brad (Jen) Lonneman, Ryan (Lindsay) Lonneman, Kristi (Evan) Metzger, Matt (Ashley) Sundlee, Darik (Maria) Lonneman & Dustin (Kelsey) Lonneman; eighteen great-grandchild; Leyla, Lillie, Braxton, Breyer, Brooks, Briggs, Treyton, Berkley, McCoy, Gracelyn, Eastyn, Hudsyn, Grant, Everett, Kollins, Abigail, Isabella and Garrett; a brother, Orville Lonneman, Sioux Falls, SD; and three sisters-in-law, Audrey Reisdorfer, Mary Lutmer and Suzie Lonneman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita Lonneman on January 31, 2019; four brothers, Vincent, Sylvester, Francis & Joseph Lonneman; and three sisters, Leona Lonneman, Rita Cook and Lorraine Marnach.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:00 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Visitation will also be from 9:30 to 10:15 before the service at the church on Monday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Gerald Kosse. Burial with full military honors provided by the Adrian American Legion will be in the St. Adrian Catholic Cemetery.
