Obituary

ARLEEN K. GERBER, age 67, of Wilmont, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Sunset Cottage in Worthington. She was born April 5, 1943 in Luverne to parents Lloyd and Marie (Henning) Henriksen. She attended school at St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore, graduating in 1961. Arleen was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Denny Gerber, on July 1, 1961 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage they lived in Wilmont and together they purchased Matt's Tavern and renamed it Den's Tap, which they ran for 23 years. Whether she was working at Den?s Tap, Jueneman Hardware, Lismore Municipal Liquor Store, Wilmont Cafe, she was known for making everyone happy with her infectious energy, charm, and humor. She loved being with people and entertaining them, especially with her many memorable characters while performing Karaoke with her husband Denny. Arleen was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont and active in church activities. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Arleen is survived by her husband, Denny Gerber, Wilmont; her children, Kristi (Mark) Henkels, Brooklyn Center; Brett (Jalin) Gerber, Corona, CA and Craig (Cynthia) Gerber, Chula Vista, CA; six grandchildren, Beau (Melissa) Henkels, MacKenzie (Jonathan) Bishop, Tyler Henkels, Mikayla Gerber, Cannon and Spencer Gerber; four great grandchildren, Arleen and Henry Bishop, Ivy and Sophie Henkels; she is also survived by her mother, Marie Henriksen, Lismore; and eight brothers and sisters, Audrey Stoffel, Litchfield; Jerry (Verna) Henriksen, Sioux Falls; Ronny (Marlis) Henriksen, Blackduck; Lenny Henriksen, Casper, WY; Butch (Therese) Henriksen, Golden Valley; Wes (Rose) Henriksen, Adrian; Duke Henriksen, Casper, WY and Tami (Dennis) Loosbrock, Champlin. She was preceded in death by her father Lloyd, sister Marsha, and brother Troy.
