ARLENE MARIE BENTS, age 96, of Bigelow, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born on a farm in Ransom Township on March 17, 1926, to Edward and Martha (Bottin) Krueger. Arlene was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. She attended country school and graduated from Bigelow High School in 1943.

Arlene married Harry Bents on December 25, 1948, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on a farm in Ransom Township. Arlene loved her life on the farm; and that her children lived close to her.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she enjoyed going to church circle. She also enjoyed gardening, square dancing, playing cards and her family.

Arlene is survived by her three children, Marlene (John) Moberg, Worthington; Eldon (Susan) Bents, Bigelow; and Robert (Bonita) Bents, Bigelow; eight grandchildren, E.J. (Shannon) Moberg, Ryan (special friend, Michelle) Moberg, Amy (Daeng) Khamphanh, Mark (Beth) Bents, Laura (Chris) Perry, Andrew (Jenna) Bents, Ashley (Joshua) Hein and Timothy (Alyson) Bents; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Natya, Kaden, Katelyn, Anna, Tyler, Rylan, Alayna, Brody, Briggs, Samuel, Autumn, Miles, Adalyn, Isaiah and Lauren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Bents on March 29, 2004; and her brother, Ervin Krueger.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Mark Schreiber. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
