ARNOLD REINHOLD KAZEMBA, age 80, of Worthington, was born on March 27, 1935 in Jackson County Minnesota to Reinhold and Doris (Place) Kazemba. He attended and graduated from Sioux Valley School in Sioux Valley, MN. After high school he started farming which was his passion. He was also a member of the National Guard for three years.
Arnie was united in marriage to the love of his life Shirley Kollasch on August 12, 1959. Through their marriage they were blessed with five children. Arnie enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and selling Pioneer Seed for 25 years. He was an active member of the Round Lake School Board for 26 years, holding the position of chairman for many of those years. He also served as chairman of the Ewington Township Board and the Prairie Lakes Vocational School Board. He will be remembered and respected for his diplomacy, fairness, respect and love of the land. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and sharing lots of hugs.
Arnie passed away at the Sibley Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Sibley, IA on April 14, 2015 after a sixteen year battle with Parkinson's disease.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley Kazemba, Worthington; four children, James (Kimberly) Kazemba, Round Lake, MN; Dawn (Marc) Freese, Fulda, MN; Jane (Melvin Jr.) Janssen, Bigelow, MN; and Mary (Eric) Witt, Brookings, SD; eighteen grandchildren, Katherine, Christine, Rebecca, Stephanie, Christian, Faith, Hannah, and Rachel Kazemba; Brittany, Anthony, Alexis, Nicholas, and Ashley Freese; Nicole, Sarah, and Kyle Janssen; , Kia and Carissa Witt; and two brothers, Kenneth Kazemba, Worthington; and Eldon Kazemba, Sioux Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jeffrey Scott Kazemba; and a sister-in-law, Eunice Kazemba.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, with parish prayers at 4 pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 pm Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. Luiz Vargas & Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
