Obituary

Audrey Aletha Harms, age 82, of Brewster, died Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN. She was born May 1, 1940, to Henry Jonas and Ellen Lena (Small) Harms on the family farm in Alba Township, Jackson County, where Audrey lived her full life. She attended Country School through 3rd grade and she walked to school from home every day. She graduated from Okabena High School in May of 1958. During her lifetime, she enjoyed baking homemade bread, cookies and fruit pies, and canning garden produce and meat.

She was a member of the Spaffoed Thunder Riders and Flag Drill Team. She sewed square dance dresses and shirts for the Turkey Trotter Dance Club. Her life on the farm involved helping with hay and straw baling and walking soy bean fields for weeds, and babysitting for several families over the years. She loved being with animals; especially horses, dogs and cats. She traveled by greyhound bus tours and toured the lower 48 states and several Canadian Provinces and Juarez, Mexico with her sister. She enjoyed word search books and watching television when her health was declining.

Audrey is survived by her sister, Frances Harms, Brewster; brother, Leslie Harms, Brewster; sister-in-Law, Darline; and nephews, Robert,  Raymond, and Brian, of Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Donald and Wayne Harms.

A private Memorial Service will take place at the Hersey Cemetery near Brewster at a later date.

Services will take place at a later date with Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Worthington.
