BEATRICE "BETTY" ANN HAMANN, age 88, of Luverne, died Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home in Luverne. She was born October 3, 1936, in Luverne, to George and Agness (Nergaard) McClure.
Betty married Milo Hamann on October 7, 1956, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. They were the first members to be married at Grace. The couple called Luverne their home and where they raised their 5 children.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne and participated in the "Couples Club" with Milo. Betty was involved in many church activities throughout the years: Choir, Day for Doing (currently Mission in Action), Church Council, Greeter/Usher and many more. If she wasn't at home or doing school pickups, you could find her at the church. She had a beautiful soprano voice and performed many solos for weddings and funerals.
Betty is survived by her five children, Douglas (Carolyn) Hamann, Edger Springs, MO; Deb (Ken) Dixon, Luverne; Tim (Carol) Hamann, Becker; Gerry Hamann, Luverne; and Terry (Veronica) Hamann, Luverne; eight grandchildren, Joshua Hamann, Naomi Hamann, Adam Hamann, Jenna (Jon) Schaeffer, Zach (Laura) Hamann, Rachel Snyders, Caitlyn Snyders and Hailey (Hunter) Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Marta, Eliana and Henry Schaeffer and Liam Hamann; and a sister, Georgia Caley, Yuma, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agness McClure; husband, Milo on November 16, 2021; an infant son, Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Connie Hamann; and son-in-law, Greg Snyders.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, December 13 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the funeral at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday. Funeral will be 11 am on Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Sarah Zender. Burial will be at the Luverne Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
