BEN KLUMPER, age 79, of Worthington, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. He was born June 18, 1932, in Reading, to Ben and Tena (Doeden) Klumper. Ben attended school in Worthington. He entered the United States Air Force in January of 1952 and served his country during the Korean Conflict until 1956.
Ben married Verna Mohns on May 23, 1953, in Worthington. After Ben returned from the service, the couple lived in Worthington, where he worked at the Farmers Elevator for thirty two years.
He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington where he had served on the finance board and as Usher. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Ben is survived by his wife, Verna Klumper, Worthington; two sons, Allen Klumper, Spencer, IA; and Jeffrey (Pat) Klumper, Sioux falls, SD; grandsons, Jeremy & Bobby and their children, Adrianna, Wyatt, Wayde & Asher, of Brandon, SD; and Michael & Chrystal and their children, Alexis & Braydon of Maynard; and Benjamin of Worthing, SD; and a brother, Gerrit John (Myrtle) Klumper, Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Bush and Margaret Baker; and a brother, Fred Klumper.
