Bernard Alvin Honermann was born to Frank and Alma Wasmund Honermann onAugust 21, 1931. He received his education in District 51 country schooland St. Adrian Catholic School. He helped his Dad on the farms North andWest of Adrian until they moved to town in 1958. Barney worked at theAdrian Concrete Products Plant until 1964, then worked for Safeway Stores,Inc., until 1982. He then worked for the City of Worthington at thePrairie View Golf Course until 1995. Barney then worked at the AdrianElementary School until 1999. Barney was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph'sSociety, joining both in the fall of 1959. He was a lector, usher, andCommunion distributor. He updated and published the usher schedule formany years. Barney enjoyed reading and fishing. Most of all, Barney enjoyed being withhis "little angels" - all the children he befriended over the years. Barney was preceded in death by his mother, Alma, in 1963; his father,Frank, in 1971; his brother, Clement, in 1991 and his brother, Vincent, in2004. He is survived by his sister, Veronica Dunn; and his nieces andnephews. Barney is buried in the St. Adrian Cemetery, next to his parents.
