BERTHA SCHIEBOUT, age 94, of Edgerton, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage, in Luverne.   She was born October 3, 1917, on the family farm near Chandler, MN, to Henry and Cornelia (Vanderpol) Davelaar.  She attended Country School in Murray County until her family moved to Sioux County, Iowa where she finished her education.
Bertha was united in marriage on February 2, 1937, in her parents home in Sioux County, IA. After their marriage they farmed in Sioux County until 1950.  They moved to a farm near Edgerton where she lived until 2009 when she moved to the Blue Mound Tower, in Luverne.  She moved to Parkview Manor  in November of 2010 until moving to the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne.
She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton, where she was active in the Ladies Aide.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, visiting and talking on the phone in later years after losing her vision.
Bertha is survived by her six children, Christian (Henrietta) Schiebout, Milaca, MN; Cora (Harold) Vander Ziel, Sioux Falls, SD; Lena (Charles) Madison, Brandon, SD; Beth (Jerry) Wieman, Luverne; Helen Harris, El Paso, TX; John (Barbara) Schiebout, Edgerton; eighteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren. sister-in-law, Dinah (Lawrence) Ter Horst, Ireton, MN; brother-in-law, Chris Schiebout, Grand Rapids, MI.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, 1972; brother, John and a sister Jennie.
