BEVERLY "BECKY" SCHARLEPP, age 84, of Worthington, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her home. She was born March 17, 1932, in West Bend, IA; to Carl and Lucille (Olson) Zinnel. At age two, she moved with her family to a farm east of Worthington. When Becky was eight years old, the family moved into Worthington where she attended school and she graduated from Worthington High School in 1949.
Becky married Paul Scharlepp on July 28, 1951, in Worthington. The couple made their home in Worthington, until Paul was transferred to Duluth for one year then moved back to Worthington. They lived at the Atrium for over 20 years.
Becky later moved into Golden Horizons and appreciated the thoughtfulness of the staff. She also cherished the care and concern of the Compassionate Care Hospice team.  Becky enjoyed reading, lively discussions, keeping up with current events and visits with Pastor Dan and her friend Barb Williams. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington and American Legion Auxiliary.
Becky is survived by her two nieces; and one nephew in Maryland. She is also survived by her dear friends Ed and Mary Schuster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul a  brother, James Zinnel; and a sister, Arline Malcolm.
