BURDELL KRUSE, age 72, of Luverne, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born December 13, 1944, in Sanborn, IA, to Henry and Martha (Botof) Kruse.

Burdell married Julie Berke on December 22, 1999, in Luverne. The couple lived in Luverne; and operated Rock County Prairie Stone. Burdell had multiple business' that included The 'little' Store, Firewood Corner, and Kruse Trucking. His one steadfast love was trucking. He leased trucks to Livestock Express, Action Carriers, IBP and PBX along with many others. He also drove for TBI Trucking, US Express and New Century in the last years of his trucking. Burdell drove truck for over fifty years. He pulled the first set of doubles in this area. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, going south for the winter and especially his pugs.

Burdell is survived by his wife, Julie Kruse, Luverne; two daughters, Shelly (Joey) Grizzel, Golden Valley, AZ; and Kari (Del) Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD; two step children, Randy (Jackie) Berke, Sioux City, IA; and Nicole (Curtis) Klages, League City, TX; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; six step grandchildren; one step grandchild; and two sisters, Linda Schuett, Sheldon, IA; and Faye (John) Vos, Sibley, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, AJ Grizzel; and a brother-in-law, Merle Schuett.

A memorial service will be 2 pm Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, with a time of fellowship one hour prior to the service. A committal of cremains will be at a later date.
