CHRISTINA "CHRIS" SCHOMACKER, age 94, of Luverne, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. She was born September 2, 1921, in Sioux County, IA, to Jake and Anna (Reitsma) Keizer. She attended country school in rural Sioux County, IA.
Chris married Robert Schomacker on April 15, 1959, in Kenneth. After their marriage, the couple lived on the family farm west of Magnolia. They retired and moved to Luverne in 1987. Chris became a resident of the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in 2013.
She was a former member of the Kenneth Lutheran Church; and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, the GLCW, and the Luverne Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking, needle work, gardening and traveling on bus trips.
Chris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann & Doug Frazeur, Canby; four grandchildren, Reed (Danielle) Frazeur, Canby; Greta (Mike) Cina, Roseville; and twins, Lisa (Kevin) Peterson, Canby; and Karen (Marc) Lorenzen, Brookings, SD; four great grandchildren, Adriyanna, Solomon, Tate & Abraham; and a brother, George (special friend, Jeannie) Keizer, Inwood, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on October 17, 2005; brother, Sam (Darlene) Keizer; and a niece, Joyce Keizer.
Funeral Service will be Friday at 2pm at Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Ron Nichols. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Kenneth Lutheran Cemetery at 3:15pm Friday.
