Obituary

CLAIR HENRY SPRINGMAN, age 84, of Adrian, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. He was born April 19, 1925, in Wilmont, to Charles and Ida (Sieve) Springman. He attended school at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School in Wilmont. Clair married Dorothy Czepa on September 21, 1950, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. After their marriage, the couple moved to Camp Polk, Louisiana, where Clair was stationed in the United States Army. After his discharge, the couple moved to the farm northwest of Lismore. In 1987, they retired from farming and in 1992 they moved to Adrian. Clair became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne, in January of 2009. He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Lismore American Legion, the Adrian Senior Citizens & a former member of the Adrian School Board. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, coaching & playing baseball, watching & listening to the Minnesota Twins, playing cards, playing the piano & accordion and especially spending time with friends & family. Clair is survived by his wife, Dorothy Springman, Adrian; twelve children, Mike (Tracey) Springman, Leesburg, VA; Chuck (Collette) Springman, Sioux Falls, SD; Bob (Nancy) Springman, Worthington; Pat (Bob) Grimshaw, Bowie, MD; Daryl (Donna) Springman, Dell Rapids, SD; Jan Schwerin, Champlin; Alan Springman, Las Vegas, NV; Diane (Bret) Heitkamp, Champlin; Joe (Alyssa) Springman, Manassas, VA; Bill (Jill) Springman, Redondo Beach, CA; Greg (Jennifer) Springman, Lino Lakes; and Jean (D.J.) Leary, Redondo Beach, CA; twenty eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren, sister, Carol (Rich) Balster, Wilmont; and a brother, Harry (Barb) Springman, Worthington. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Alecia Heitkamp, in 1989; three brothers, Norbert, Joe & Willie Springman; and two sisters, Jean Springman & Elaine Erlandson.
