CLARICE M. THOMPSON, age 91, of rural Rushmore, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Worthington Regional Hospital, in Worthington. She was born March 20, 1915, in rural Rushmore to William and Clara (Gurnsey) Downes. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1933, and later attended Farm School at the University of Minnesota. Clarice was united in marriage to Michael Thompson on September 15, 1937 at the home farm in rural Rushmore. After their marriage, they farmed in Ransom Township until they retired in 1968. They continued to live on the farm until Michael?s death in 1991. She lived in Worthington until 2005, when she moved to Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda. She was a member of the United Methodist Church all of her life, where she was active in Circle and Ladies Aid. She also belonged to Project Club, 4-H Club, and served as secretary of the Ransom Cemetery Association for over 40 years. She enjoyed baking, gardening and spending time with her family. Clarice is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cleone and Jerry Ramerth, Fulda; six grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Doug Higginbotham, Bellevue, WA; Jerelyn and Tim Holt, Fulda; Tammy and Al O?Neil, Worthington; Sue and Dan Gunderman, Dundee; Curt and Laura Ramerth, Fulda; Doug and Lyn Ramerth, Fulda; eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandsons, sister, Bessie Madison, Mankato; sister-in-law, Thelma and Harold Wass, Worthington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Michael, sisters, Doris Johnson and Winifred Downes; and infant children. Blessed Be Her Memory.
