COLLIN LEE SMITH, age 38, of Worthington, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. He was born October 20, 1971, in Burlington, IA, to LeRoy and Marcia (Melvin) Smith. At the age of 14, Collin was injured in an automobile accident that left him with significant disabilities, but a strong and unbroken spirit. Collin has been a resident of Ridgewood, in Worthington, since 1991. In his youth he enjoyed hockey, bicycle racing competitions, music and later, the companionship and shared humor of family and friends. Collin is survived by his mother, Marcy (Tom) LaVelle, Worthington; father, Lee (Nancy) Smith, Bluffton, SC; brother, Kelly (Shelly) Smith, Minnetonka; and his extended D.A.C. and Ridgewood families. He was preceded in death by his paternal & maternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Ridgewood, 1381 Knollwood Dr. Worthington, MN 56187.
