CURTIS MAXWELL Jr., age 60, of Luverne, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born June 29, 1950, in Luverne, to Curtis Sr. and Vyonna (Anderson) Maxwell. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1968. Curt married Sandy (Brower) Lammert on April 30, 1994 in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne where Curt worked in construction as a stone mason. He was a member of the American Reformed Church in Luverne and the Luverne Eagles Club. Curt was a truly devoted husband, father, brother and friend well known for his calm, nonjudgmental disposition and helpful nature. He was quick to volunteer where needed. Curt donated hundreds of hours as fund-raiser grill master at the Luverne Eagles Club and many seasons as a hockey coach for his son, Austin. His skill as a stone mason has left a variety of lasting landmarks around Rock County including The Historic Manitou Hotel and the Luverne Hospice Cottage. Over the past couple years, he had begun to share and teach his craft to his son, Austin. He will be dearly missed. Curt is survived by his wife, Sandy Maxwell, Luverne; son Austin Maxwell, Luverne; three step children, Sherry (Andy) Diller, Council Bluffs, IA; Erin (Matthew) Brown, St. Cloud; and Eric (Amanda Ebert) Lammert, Luverne; step granddaughter, Nora Diller; two sisters, Linda (Dominic) Maras, Luverne; and Dawn (Bob Christiansen) Maxwell, Savage; and two brothers, Dan (Linda) Maxwell, Plymouth; and Randy (Sue) Maxwell, St. Louis, MO.
