DALE HERMAN DOMEYER, age 87, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born August 1, 1921, in Adrian, to Herman and Margaret (Sassen) Domeyer. Dale attended St. Adrian Catholic School. He farmed with his father until his marriage. Dale married Dorothy Klooster on February 6, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth. After their marriage, the couple farmed south of Adrian. In 1953, Dale went into the implement business and became a partner of Bauman & Domeyer International Harvester in Ellsworth. Later, the business became Domeyer & Gisolf Implement. In 1979, Domeyer Implement was born and the business has stayed family owned ever since. Dale retired in 1984. Domeyer Implement has continued to be owned & operated by Dale?s sons, Lane, Dean & Curt. Dale was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth; the Knights of Columbus; and a former member of the Ellsworth School Board & the Ellsworth Optimist Club. Dale enjoyed traveling, golfing, dancing, spending time with his family & friends and wintering in Mesa, AZ. During the summer months, he enjoyed working at the shop, talking with customers and reading the Wall Street Journal. He loved to stay active and was a man of many skills & talents. Dale is survived by his wife, Dorothy Domeyer, Ellsworth; four sons and daughters-in-law, Doug & Vickie Domeyer, Sioux Falls, SD; Lane Domeyer, Ellsworth; Dean & Shirley Domeyer, Ellsworth; and Curtis Domeyer, Ellsworth; eight grandchildren, Tamra (Ray) Domeyer-Cisco, Tracy (Justin) Nigro, Tricia (Ben) Waldschmidt, Jamie (Kerri) Domeyer, Tasha Domeyer, Branden (Crystal) Domeyer, Crystal Domeyer & Brianna Domeyer; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Floyd Domeyer, Mitchell, SD; and a sister-in-law, Lenore Domeyer, Adrian. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne & Merle Domeyer; and three sisters, Stella Engbarth, Myrtle Domeyer & Pearl Bauman.
