DALE L. SNIPES, age 77, of Sibley, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. He was born on June 7, 1935 in Worthington, to parents Ray and Nannie Kay Snipes. He grew up in Belton, South Carolina and attended school there. After his schooling he worked for the cotton mill in Belton and then enlisted in the United State Air Force. He was stationed in Saudi Arabia and Chandler, MN.
On July 15, 1960, he was united in marriage to Florence Mae Martin at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading. After their marriage the couple moved to South Carolina and then to Red Wing, MN and eventually moved to Sibley, IA. Dale worked as a welder for the City of Sibley and Sudenga Constrution.
Dale enjoyed creating welding art and especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
His is survived by his daughter, Dalene (Tom) Kinkennon, one grandson, Anthony "AJ" James Silver, two brothers, Jerry (Ruby) Snipes, South Carolina, Delbert (JoAnn) Snipes, Miami, FL; one sister, JoAnn (Bubba) Hyde, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Nannie and one brother, Curtis Snipes.
