DARLENE ANNE DOHLMANN, age 78, of Luverne, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She was born October 2, 1928, in Minnehaha County, SD, to Frederick and Laura (Steffen) Kuechenmeister. She attended schools in Rock County and later attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD. Darlene married Bernard Dohlmann on October 9, 1946, in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia. Darlene worked as an Insurance Agent & Accountant for The Estenson Company, in Luverne, for over thirty five years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Magnolia; the Ladies Aid; and the Luverne Ladies VFW & Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, tatting, needlework and especially spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Darlene is survived by her two children and their spouses, Bernard G. & Helen Dohlmann, Hawley; and Victoria & Paul Fickbohm, Florence, AL; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Dohlmann, on August 16, 2006; two brothers, Orville & Lloyd Kuechenmeister; sister, Shirley Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Lowell Thompson.
