DARYLE LEE GOEMBEL, age 62, of Luverne, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at his home. He was born February 2, 1950, in Luverne, to Russell and Edna (Lange) Goembel. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1968. Daryle was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.
Daryle married Sonja Buss on October 22, 1971, at the Luverne Courthouse by Helga Skyberg. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Daryle worked at Hanson Silo for nine years. He later worked at IBP for over twenty years before becoming self-employed.
He enjoyed having coffee with 'the guys" at the Corner Gas Stop. He also enjoyed fishing, repairing lawnmowers, working on vehicles, and watching his grandchildren.
Daryle is survived by his wife, Sonja Goembel, Luverne; two sons, Jason Goembel, George, IA; and Brad (Trisha) Goembel, Luverne; three grandchildren, Taylor Marie Gomebel, Brody Dale Goembel & Rylin Lee Goembel; five brothers, Keith (Jan) Goembel, Lennox, SD; James (Marvella) Goembel, Luverne; Glenn Goembel, Luverne; Bryce (Maggie) Goembel, Luverne; and Larry Goembel, Luverne; two sisters, Barbara (Don) Ossenfort, Rapid City, SD; and Diane (David) Stearns, Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Goembel, in 1945; and a brother, Clifford, in 1962.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral will be 1 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Joshua Enderson. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
