DELORES MARY PICK, age 99, of Worthington, died, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born September 15, 1912 in New York City, NY. She arrived by orphan train in Lismore, MN; at the age of five years and was adopted by Joseph and Anna Heling. She attended school at St. Kilian, MN.
Delores was united in marriage to Ernest Pick on November 11, 1931 at St. Kilian Catholic Church and to this union five children were born. They farmed near St. Kilian and moved to Worthington in 1956. She worked in retail stores and also for Campbell Soup Company. She retired in 1985 after Ernest died and moved into Sunshine apartments until 2005 when she became a resident of South Shore Care Center.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. Delores enjoyed quilting and sewing for Christmas pageants at St. Kilian Catholic Church.
Delores is survived by her children, Maynard (Sandy) Pick, Cold Spring, MN; William (Jacklyn) Pick, Fountain City, WI; Marvin (Sharon) Pick, Sioux Falls, SD; Marlene (Alfred) Gerdes, Milford, IA; and Elizabeth Post, Wymore, NE; 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Heling; husband Ernest; and two infant children, several grandchildren and son-in-law, Ralph Post.
