DELORES H. ASHBY, age 84, of Adrian, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Sanford Luverne Hospital. She was born April 5, 1928 in Larkin Township, Nobles County, MN; to parents Herman and Catherine (Bullerman) Henning. She attended school at St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore.
Delores was united in marriage to Kenneth Ashby on January 20, 1948 in Lismore. They made their home East of Magnolia and were engaged in farming. Delores worked at Safeway Egg Plant, helped on the family farm and was a homemaker. In 1967, they moved North of Ellsworth and continued farming. After her husband's death in 1985 she remained on the farm until moving to Adrian Country Cottages in 2010.
She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, helping on the farm, having coffee with her friends and always enjoyed her family.
Delores is survived by her children, Steve (Elaine) Ashby, Adrian; Karen (Joe) Konz, Brandon, SD; Kevin Ashby, Adrian; Marcia (Lonnie) Klaassen, Rock Rapids, IA and Jane (Scott) Kooiker, Ellsworth; 12 grandchildren, Ryan Ashby, Shannon (Dusty) Spieker, Brady Ashby, Michael Ashby, Shawn (Kelly) Konz, Mark (Becca) Konz, Bryan (Melissa) Konz, Traci (finance Jeff Barnable) Klaassen, Tyler Klaassen, Kyle Klaassen, Katie Kooiker and Kristi Kooiker; 9 great grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, Brody, Noah, Jordan, Gracia, Sophia, Alex and Danica; brother, Cyril (Pat) Henning, Adrian and sister, Veronica (Victor) McCann, Adrian; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ashby, Luverne; Helen Rogers, Golden, CO; Luella Henning, North Mankato, and Marge Henning, Greenwood, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1985, and two sons, Dallas and Jeffrey Ashby.
