DELORES MAXINE STRASSBURG, age 93, of Luverne, died Monday, December 25, 2017, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. She was born January 24, 1924, in Springwater Township, to Henry and Augusta (Schuldt) Schmuck. Delores was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Luverne. She attended school in Rock County.

Delores married Willard Strassburg on August 7, 1940, in Luverne. The couple farmed north of Kenneth. In 1962, they moved into Kenneth. Delores and Willard purchased the grocery store in Kenneth in 1975 and operated it for over five years before retiring.

She was a former active member of the Kenneth Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, and belonged to the Ladies Aid and Alter Guild. Delores is a current member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening.

Delores is survived by her six children, Delmer (Dee) Strassburg, Nicollet; Jacqueline Claussen, Pace, FL; Joycelyn Erickson, Hendricks; Janice (Russell) Jonas, Luverne; Jolene (Allan) Baumann, Loveland, CO; and David (Kathy) Strassburg, Luverne; daughter-in-law, Jill Strassburg, Lakeshore, CA; twenty four grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard on May 29, 1994; son, Dale in 2005; granddaughter, Jessica Baumann in 2017; two sons-in-law, Lee Claussen and Paul Erickson; three brothers, Alvin, Elmer & Lester Schmuck; and two sisters, Irene Arnold and Leone Staeffler.

Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral will be 11 am Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Ron Nichols. Burial will be in the Kenneth Cemetery.
