DENA SANTANA, age 57, of Luverne, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born September 2, 1963, in New Orleans, LA., to John and Violet (Hall) Santana. She graduated from South San High School in San Antonio, TX in 1981.
Dena worked in the San Antonio area in the service industry for a few years after she graduated. Dena moved to Minnesota in 1985 with her children where she enjoyed raising her children and working in the service industry.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Luverne. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She laughed, she lived, she loved.
Dena is survived by her two children, Jon (Jill) Santana, Luverne; Lucinda Peterson, Luverne; four brothers, Devin (Sarah) Santana, Nebraska City, NE; David (Arnette) Santana, San Antonio, TX; Darren (Allison) Santana, Stuart, NE; and Daniel Santana, Lexington, KY; and a brother-in-law, Ray Martinez, Tyler, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Debbie Martinez.
A memorial service will be Monday at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Walt Moser. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. A private family committal of cremains will take place at a later date.
