DERRINGER JOHN "DJ" FOLKERS, age 32, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Adrian, died suddenly Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home. He was born May 12, 1992, in Worthington, to Robert Paine and Rebecca Folkers. He graduated from Fulda High School in 2011.

After graduating, DJ moved to his step-father's home in Adrian. He worked at the Travel Plaza, in Worthington, for over ten years. In 2015, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD to care for his mother. He worked at Ruffland Kennels as Lead Machine Operator.

He was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, gaming and his dog, Thatch.

DJ is survived by his mother, Rebecca (Byron) Clausen, Sioux Falls, SD; father, Rob (Rachel) Paine, Byron; maternal grandmother, Diann (Pat) Lange, Adrian; paternal grandmother, Betty Reynolds, Plainview; four siblings, Josh Elsing, Heron Lake; Aimee (Chris) DeSherlia, Horace, ND; Alex Paine, Byron; and Ashli Paine, Byron; two step-brothers, Daniel (Lish) Clausen, Round Lake; and Justin Clausen, Oklahoma City, OK; a niece, Freya Elsing; four step-nieces & nephews, Harper, Declan, Vienna and Alaric; ten aunts & uncles, Delana Paine, Laurie Mickow, Scott (Jennifer) Paine, Robin (Jim) Folkers, Lismore; Heather (Monty) Stapp, Colby, KS; Travis (Beth) Lange, Luverne; Ryan (Brooke) Folkers, Bloomington; Tara (Tracy) Setterstrom, Woodbury, Brittany (Lindsey) Besky, Cottage Grove; and Stephanie Folkers, Prescott, WI; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Rick Elsing; uncle, Dustin Lange; two grandfathers, Randy Folkers and Orville Paine; step-sister, Jackie Fox; and step-grandparents, Jay & Darleen Clausen.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14 from 4-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Funeral will be 7 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
