DOLORES STRASSBURG age 95, of Luverne, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center.  She was born January 21, 1923, in Sherman, SD, to Charles and Adalida (DeSchepper) Walgrave.  She attended country school in Rock and Pipestone counties.

Dolores married Darrell Strassburg on June 20, 1946, at St Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne.  After their marriage the couple lived in Hardwick.  They later lived in Canby before moving back to Luverne in 1953.  Dolores worked at various businesses in Luverne.  She worked as a cook for Luverne public schools for many years and was the head cook in her later years.

She was a member of Luverne Ladies Auxiliary, St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, where she served on the LCCW for many years and was in charge of funeral lunches.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, walking, visiting with people, playing cards, especially pinochle and poker.

Dolores is survived by her six children, Jeff & Sue Strassburg, Elk Point, SD; Dennis & Diane Strassburg, Magnolia, MN; Linda & Doug Henrichs, Sioux Falls, SD; Wendy & Wally Cooper, Reading, MN; Twyla Strassburg, Sioux Falls, SD; Pat & Barb Strassburg, Adrian, MN; twenty grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; two brothers, Ardean Walgrave, Luverne; Don Walgrave, Brandon, SD; sister Joyce (Roger) Walser, Eden Prairie; special friends Pat & Lowell Ahrendt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell, son, Michael, grandson Jim, five brothers, Harold, Robert, Eli, Paul, and Arnold Walgrave; three sisters, Alice Kammerud, Ruth Cook and June Erlandson.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 pm, with a rosary service at 7pm,   at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. Visitation is also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
