IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Viessman
September 30, 1937 – February 21, 2025
DONALD WAYNE VIESSMAN, age 87, of Worthington, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Worthington. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958.
Don married Joy L. Roelofs on May 20, 1957, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lismore, by Rev. E. D. Pappadackis. Don & Joy lived a short time in Adrian and moved to Worthington in 1958 where they continued to make their home. Don worked for Viessman Construction before he was employed by the City of Worthington at the Municipal Power Plant as a Chief Engineer, until 1972. He then became employed by the State of Minnesota Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at Worthington Community College until he retired in 1994.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, where he served as an Elder on the Property and Finance Committee, as Stewardship Captain, Youth Fellowship Leader, Usher, Greeter and delivered Mobile Meals. He was also a member of the Minnesota State Engineers Guild, served on the Buildings & Grounds Advisory Committee for State of Minnesota Community Colleges, the Staff Development Committee for State Community College Systems and the Worthington American Legion Post #5.
Don's family depended on his expertise on being a "fixer" for any small or large projects, and refinishing family antiques. One of his grandsons, at an early age, called him "Grandpa Pound-Pound" and would run for his tools when Grandpa would come over. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and church activities in which they participated. He always looked forward to visiting with the boys and their families and giving the grandchildren motorcycle rides.
