Obituary

DONNA BRUNS, age 88, of Worthington, formerly of Rushmore, died Thursday, April 2, 2020, in Worthington. She was born December 23, 1931, in Dewald Township, MN to Henry and Dora (Hinz) Lindemann. Donna was the first person in her family to graduate from college. She received a Registered Nursing Degree from the Sioux Valley School of Nursing. Donna married LeRoy D. Bruns on January 5, 1956, in Rushmore. The couple farmed west of Rushmore until 1972 when they moved to the farm south of Wilmont. Donna worked as a nurse at various places until retiring and moving to Worthington in 1996. They moved to The Meadows in June of 2013. She had been an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Rushmore, for over fifty four years serving in many offices including Sunday School Teacher, Confirmation Teacher and the LWML. She was a current member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. Donna made and donated over 100 quilts. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and spending time with family. Donna is survived by her seven children, Charlene (Brent) Wintz, Round Lake; Cheryl Schreiner, South St. Paul; Cindy (Bruce) Stuntebeck, Yakima, WA; Connie Upton, Yakima, WA; Colette (Greg) Keeton, Yakima, WA; Jerald (Cindi) Bruns, Elk River; and Thomas (Jerri) Bruns, Elko, NV; sixteen grandchildren, Kara (Simon) Schmitz, Trevor (Chelsea) Wintz, Elizabeth (Greg) Troje, Sarah (Dave) Mullen; Dylan (Cassie) Stuntebeck, Marley Upton, Madison Johnson, Taylor Keeton, Joey (Rachael) Keeton, Travis Smith, Moriah Bruns, Michaela Bruns, Melea Bruns, Brittany (Lassen) Sharp, Shelby Bruns & Casey Bruns; sixteen great-grandchildren, Sydney, Dominic, Calvin, Leighton, Tate, Savannah, Tristan, Addison, Allie, Harper, Henry, Kaylee, Abigail, Luke and Ophelia; three sisters, Ruth (Vincent) Neuroth, Ft. Collins, CO; Vernice Vander Poel, Sioux Falls, SD; and Julie Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Lindemann, Worthington; and Erma Wick, Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy on April 3, 2014; four sisters, Francis Tischer, Dolores Schuur, Helen Obermoller and Irma Wester; and four brothers, Edward, Richard, William and Eugene Lindemann.

A memorial service will take place at  the St. Mathews Lutheran Church on July, 3rd at 10:30 AM followed by lunch and fellowship.
