Obituary

DORA MARIE BUCHMAN, age 96, of Worthington, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at the Crossroads Care Center, in Worthington. She was born October 11, 1912, in rural Nobles County, Elk Township, to Will and Grace (Manning) Kunze. Dora was baptized & confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. She attended country school in rural Worthington. Dora married Ray Buchman on November 25, 1960, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple lived in Worthington. Dora worked as a Nurses Aid at Cashells Nursing Home, in Worthington, from 1946 to 1956. In 1959, she began working as a Dietician at Lake Haven Nursing Home, in Worthington, before retiring in 1981. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington. Dora enjoyed doing crafts, making cards & cooking. She loved her family & friends. Dora is survived by her step-son, Ray (Karen) Buchman, Worthington; six step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great grandchildren; eight step-great great grandchildren; brother, Willie (Bernadine) Kunze, Worthington; four sisters, Alice Wilkens, Worthington; Helen Grimmuis, Worthington; Lorraine (Art) Schaap, Worthington; and Leathe Kunze, Worthington; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Kunze, Rapid City, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray, in 1967; two brothers, Louie & John Kunze; two sisters, Mary Kunze & Lilly Kasch; and a step-daughter, LaVerna (Howard) Jones. Funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Wayne Krohe. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery. Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
