DORIS MAE DAHLHOFF, age 78, of Brewster, succumbed to cancer on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the Sanford Worthington Hospice Cottage. She was born May 7, 1937, in rural Rushmore, to Henry and Jannette (Jacobs) Immens. She attended country school in Rushmore and graduated from Worthington High School in 1955.
Doris married Allen D. Dahlhoff on February 16, 1974, at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church south of Rushmore. After their marriage, the couple lived in Brewster. Doris worked as a waitress at The Hotel Thompson Coffee Shop, in Worthington, where she formed many relationships. She also worked as a Data Processing Clerk at Nobles Coop Electric for forty three years before retiring in 1999. After retirement, Doris & Allen spent three winters in Arizona & Texas.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brewster. She enjoyed music, playing her organ, sewing, dancing, fishing, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.
Doris is survived by her four children, Lisa (Roger) Rehnelt, Kasota; Roger (Kris) Dahlhoff, Waseca; Michael (Amy) Dahlhoff, Colorado Springs, CO; and Janet (Mike) Hromatko, Polk City, IA; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Helen (Tom) Louk, Fayetteville, NC; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Dahlhoff, on December 9, 2002; a brother, Fred Immens; an infant sister, Gracie; and two sisters, Gladys Reinalda; and Grace Caster.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 11 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Brewster, officiated by Pastor Robert Bartlett. Burial will be in the Hersey Cemetery in Brewster.
