DORIS ELAINE OLSON formerly of Adrian died on Monday, October 26, 2020 in Colleyville, TX.  Born on November 9, 1934, in Ellsworth MN to Thorwald and Alvina (Moeller) Hansen, Doris grew up on a farm near Kanaranzi and attended Kanaranzi and Magnolia schools. After high school, she attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Mankato and graduated as an LPN in 1953, then worked at Arnold Memorial Hospital until 1958.

Doris married Donald Olson in March 1958. They raised their children on a farm near Kenneth until Donald's death in 1966. Doris and her four children moved to Adrian later that year and  returned to working at Arnold Memorial Hospital in 1966. While working, she returned to college and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Augustana College in 1973. Doris held several positions at Arnold Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home and retired as the Director of Nursing at the Nursing Home in 1999.  Doris also volunteered for the Adrian Ambulance Service for 16 years.

Doris served on the City of Adrian Park Board and the Zion Lutheran Church Council.  She always attended her children's sporting events, concerts, and other activities. She enjoyed spending winters in Texas after she retired. She adored her seven grandchildren and loved it whenever they visited grandma's house.

Doris is survived by her four children: David (Kathy) Olson, Lakeville MN; Daryl (Susan) Olson, El Paso TX; Donette Olson, Euless TX; and Debra (Joe) Peta, Colleyville TX, and her sister, Arlene Lee, Luverne MN.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ashley Olson, Kelsey Peta, Mathea Olson, Alex Peta, Lukas Olson, Haley Olson, and Annie Peta.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald in 1966, and brother Clifford in 2002.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian.  A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m.

A public celebration of life will take place next summer.

The family is requesting memorials be sent to the Adrian Senior Citizens Center, the City of Adrian Park Department or the charity of your choice.
