    DOROTHY ELAINE DOMEYER, age 99, of Ellsworth, died Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born June 29, 1926, in a country home near Ellsworth, to Henry J. and Alice (DeGroot) Klooster. She attended country schools in the Ellsworth area through the 8th grade.

    Dorothy married Dale Domeyer on February 6, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth. To this marriage, they were blessed with four sons, Douglas, Lane, Dean and Curtis. Dale & Dorothy farmed near Adrian until 1953, when they went into the implement business. In 1954, they moved to Ellsworth to be closer to the business. Dorothy worked in the parts department and did secretarial work.

    She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Ellsworth. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She provided lunch for the employees at the shop. In her later years, she continued to grace the employees with homemade buns with her special ingredients on them. Dorothy enjoyed traveling to many states with their friends in campers. In the 1970’s, they settled in Arizona for the winters. She loved to dance, square dance, modern dancing or just listening to the bands. Dorothy also enjoyed her time with her friends and cherished her time with her family.

    Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Lane Domeyer, Ellsworth; Dean (Shirley) Domeyer, Ellsworth; and Curtis Domeyer, Ellsworth; daughter-in-law, Vickie Domeyer, Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren, Tamra (Ray) Domeyer-Cisco, Tracy (Justin) Nigro, Tricia (Ben) Waldschmidt, Jamie (Kerri) Domeyer, Tasha (Mike) Bus, Branden (Stacy) Domeyer, Crystal Domeyer and Brianna (Matt) Hardwick; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale on July 22, 2009; son, Doug on September 20, 2019; and two brothers, Wayne “Sonny” (Florence) Domeyer; and Fabian “Babe” (Kitty) Domeyer.


    Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, May 18, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. A private family funeral service will take place later, along with burial at the St. Mary Cemetery in Ellsworth.
