Obituary
Former Luverne resident Dorothy Jean Skoland Foss, 87, passed away January 31, 2012 at her son's home in Phoenix, OR. She was born January 16, 1925 in Luverne to Tobias and Lila Spease Skoland and graduated from Luverne High School in 1942.
On September 7, 1948 she married Edgar J. Foss in St. Joseph, MO and moved to Yreka, CA in 1951. They divorced in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Dorothy moved back to Luverne in 1991 to be closer to relatives and hometown friends. She lived there until May 2011, when she moved to Oregon.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandi (Tom) Menefee of Orangevale, CA; sons Ed (Fran) Foss of Phoenix, OR and Jeff Foss of Denver, CO; sister Shirley Ford of Luverne; grandchildren Erin Menefee, Sean Menefee, Stephanie Foss Hudson, Brett Foss, Erik Foss and Kirby Foss; plus great-grandchildren Sid and Zoe Jean Hudson. Son Dean (Kathy) Foss of Medford, OR predeceased her in 2009.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Luverne Alumni News, 709 N. Kniss Ave., Luverne, MN 56156.
