DOUGLAS M. WEHR, age 66, of Worthington, died January 8, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born on April 24, 1943 to parents, Rudolph and Reatha (Falconer) Wehr in Worthington, MN. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1961. After his schooling he was employed with Cargill in Worthington. Doug married Mary Jean Wieneke on October 9, 1965 at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. After their marriage, they lived in Worthington. They later moved to Lismore where Doug managed the Lismore Elevator. Returning to Worthington in 1972, he was employed with Allied Mills/Hubbard Feeds until retiring. Doug was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an original member of Nobles County Pheasants Forever and active with Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid sportsman ? fishing and hunting with family and friends, cheering on the Vikings, and actively involved with his sons? sporting events. Family members of all ages looked forward to his ?Santa" visits each year. Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Jean, Worthington; three sons, Alan Wehr, Sioux Falls, SD; Bradley Wehr, Worthington; and Corey Wehr, San Diego, CA; his mother, Reatha Wehr, Worthington; one grandson, Tyson Wehr, Sioux Falls, SD; and one sister, Cheryl (Carl) Heitkamp, Adrian, MN. He was a loving ?Uncle Dougie? to twenty-four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph and brother, Merle Wehr.
