EDNA ANNA MARIE LEISTER, age 95, of Worthington, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born December 13, 1912 in Bordin, Minnesota in Slayton County. She was the daughter of Edward and Dorothea (Schwede) Monke. Edna attended school in LeMars, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Henry Leister on April 13, 1935 and lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for several years where she worked for Montgomery Ward. She moved to Worthington, Minnesota in 1962 and lived with her mother and brother, Virgil Monke. She held various jobs in Worthington. Edna was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Susan) Untiedt, Demorest, Georgia; grandchildren, Steven Untiedt, Caroline Ruzzamenti and Jennifer Untiedt, sister-in-law, Phyllis Monke, Kingsley, IA; niece, Judy (Lester) Watts, Clive, IA; nephew, Lowell (Julie) Monke of Ohio; great nephews, Benjamin and Mitchell Monke. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Virgil and Melvin Monke.
