EDWARD "ED" HENRY WEISS, age 75, of Adrian, died, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.  He was born on May 2, 1937, to Alfred and Marie Olivia (Arens) Weiss. Ed graduated from Ashton High School, in Ashton, IA, in 1955. He entered the United States Army and served his country in the Military Police.
Ed married Mary Cox on June 16, 1962, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple lived in rural Adrian. Mary died on June 18, 2001.
Ed married Lorie Heitkamp on December 3, 2005, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived in Adrian. Ed farmed until 1994 when he began driving truck. He most recently drove for Hokeness Farms.
He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; the St. Adrian Knights of Columbus; and the Adrian American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, working in his shop making toys for his grandchildren; and spending time with his family.
Ed is survived by his wife, Lorie Weiss, Adrian; four children, Maria (Al) Ahlers, Fulda; Andy (Jill) Weiss, Adrian; Laura (Steve Loosbrock) Weiss, Apple Valley; and Marty (Brandi) Weiss, Adrian; nineteen grandchildren, Alexa, Taylor, Blake, Dana, Devin, Jackie, Sydnie, Josie, MaKaya, Travis, Cole, Dani, Sam, Brett, Tanner, Nate, Taylor, Gabie & Lea; four step children, Jolene (Mike) Truwe, Maple Grove; Connie (Kevin) Nowatny, Sioux Falls, SD; Jeff (Kathy) Heitkamp, Dell Rapids, SD; and Chad (Michelle) Loosbrock, Adrian; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy (Chad) Anderson, Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, son, Travis in 2007; and a sister, Norma Jean Burns.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday, with parish prayers at 2:30 pm, at St. Adrian Catholic Church; visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral will be 11 am Monday at St. Adrian Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
