EFFIE De BOER, age 97, of Luverne, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Tuff Memorial Home, in Hills. She was born October 31, 1910, in Hull, IA, to Jurrien and Florence (Huizenga) De Boer. After schooling, Effie worked in Luverne as a housekeeper. She became a resident of Centennial Apartments, in Luverne, in January of 1978. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, in Luverne. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, needlework, reading, volunteer work and traveling to California. Effie is survived by her brother, Peter De Boer, Beaver Creek; sister, Barbara Van Tol, Ripon, CA; two sisters-in-law, Helen De Boer, Hills; and Albertha De Boer, Ripon, CA; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Florence De Boer, Anna Anema & Ruth Hengeveld; three brothers, John, Chuck & Bill De Boer; and four infant siblings.
