EILEEN MARIE REISCH, age 91, of Luverne, died Sunday, January 24, 2016, surrounded by her family at the Rock Rapids Care Center in Rock Rapids, IA. She was born April 30, 1924, in Howard, SD, to Albert and Barbara (Koppert) Magnuson. Eileen graduated from St. Agatha Catholic High School; and attended college in Mitchell, SD where she received her Teaching Degree. She taught country school near Howard, SD.
Eileen married Marcel Reisch on November 23, 1944, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard, SD. After their marriage, the couple lived in Howard, SD where they farmed. They moved to Luverne in 1967 and purchased the Luverne Livestock Auction, where Eileen operated The Chuck Wagon Café. They retired in January of 2000.
She was an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, where she served as Cantor, Eucharistic Minister, CCD Teacher; Adoration Chapel; and the WCCW. Eileen received The Bishops Medal in 2009. She was also a member of the Sewing Missions; 4-H Leader; the Luverne Lions 92; Doll Club; Rubber Stamp Club; and the MN State Auction Association. She enjoyed quilting and flowers.
Eileen is survived by her eleven children, Jim (Sandy) Reisch, Luverne; Barb (Gary) Mensen, Lubbock, TX; Pat (Cliff) Roush, Liberty, MO; Peggy (Bob) Klinsing, Ihlen; Kelly Richmond, Colby, KS; Mary Jo (Gale) Benson, Sioux Falls, SD; Michael (Kathy) Reisch, Sioux Falls, SD; Michelle Rozeboom, Garretson, SD; Terry (Amy) Reisch, Luverne; Jerry (Christy) Reisch, Luverne; and Paula (Kevin) Spykerboer, Rock Rapids, IA; forty three grandchildren; ninety three great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale (Shirley) Magnuson, Mitchell, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcel on July 12, 2001; an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Kerry Allen; two sons-in-law, Marlon Sandberg and Bert Rozeboom; a brother, Virgil Magnuson; and three sisters, Anita Jones, Elna Koch & Lucille Dobertz.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, with a Rosary & Parish Prayers at 7 pm. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
