ELAINE D. CLARK, age 86, of Luverne, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital. She was born July 26, 1920, in Luverne, to Irving and Mary (Klees) Strassburg. Elaine attended elementary school in Hardwick and graduated from Edgerton High School in 1940. She later worked for the city of Hardwick. Elaine married Edsel Clark on December 29, 1945, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Battle Plain Township, rural Edgerton, until moving to the farm south of Jasper in 1973. In the fall of 1996, they retired and moved to Luverne. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne; and the WCCW. She enjoyed sewing & baking. Elaine is survived by her husband, Edsel Clark, Luverne; six children and their spouses, Zondra & Bob Knipps, Golden, CO; Tom & Sandy Clark, Hardwick; Terry & Sheila Clark, Pipestone; Jeannine & Bruce Vastenhout, Luverne; Becky Clark, Estherville, IA; and Ken Clark, Jasper; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Thorson, Luverne. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford & Darrell Strassburg; and a sister, Naomi Strassburg. Blessed Be Her Memory.
