(Hammar) Schuck
January 24, 1935 – December 12, 2019
ELEANOR LOUISE SCHUCK, age 84, of Worthington, died Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born January 24, 1935, in Worthington, to Donald and Helen (Annable) Hammar. Eleanor graduated from Worthington High School where she was active in the choir and band. She later received her degree as an Accredited Record Technician.
Eleanor married Darvin Schuck on December 18, 1954, at the First Baptist Church in Worthington. The couple farmed west of Sibley, IA. In 1969, they moved into Sibley where Eleanor worked in the Medical Records Department at the Sibley Hospital. They moved to Worthington in the spring of 1976 where she began working at the Worthington Regional Hospital. Eleanor retired in 2005.
She was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church in Worthington. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, helping children with their Bible verses and spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Darvin Schuck, Worthington; four children, Doug (Julie) Schuck, Ottumwa, IA; Linda (Rick) Boeder, Sioux Falls, SD; Margaret Wyman, Meridian, ID; and Miriam (Lusche) Dekarski, St. Paul, MN; thirteen grandchildren, Emilee (Tim) Wagner, Aaron (Abby) Schuck, Erikka (Drew) Russell, Adam Schuck, Christina (Tony) Burggraff, Melissa (Matt) Schmidt, Amanda (Broc) Giffey, Laura (Dan) Shields, Peter (Liz) Augustine, Paul Augustine, Helen Wyman, Marilyn Wyman and Molly Dekarski; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faith (Robert) Luing, CA; and Mary Ellen Hammar, Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Phyllis Jean Hammar.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. A memorial service will be Monday at 11 am at the Lakeside Baptist Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Wesley Kouba. Burial will precede the service in the Worthington Cemetery.
