ELSIE MAE BERGMAN, age 84, of Luverne, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. She was born April 17, 1925, in Little Rock, IA, to Henry W. and Ruth Alma (Gross) Gerloff. She graduated from Luverne High School. Elsie married Ervin Bergman on December 10, 1947, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Pleasant View. They later moved to the farm in Beaver Creek. In 1953, the family moved to the farm northeast of Luverne. She was a homemaker and enjoyed anything pertaining to nature. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, scrap booking and especially her grandchildren. Elsie is survived by her husband, Ervin Bergman, Luverne; son, David (Connie) Bergman, Luverne; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bergman, Luverne; three grandchildren, Brian (Tami) Bergman, Kenneth; Angela (Tony) Olson, Garretson, SD; and Brad Bergman, Sioux Falls, SD; five great grandchildren; sister, Marie Gerloff, Luverne; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Kleine, Luverne; and Bernice Kracht, Rock Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons, Lloyd Bergman, in 2005; and Leon Bergman, in 2007; brother, Lawrence Gerloff; and a sister, Margaret VanStelton. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:00 am Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Burial will be at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
