Elsie Ann Rutzen, age 77, of Worthington, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield surrounded with love and support from staff. She was born on July 13, 1937 in Fargo, ND.
On February 19, 1953 she was united in marriage to Marvin Rutzen in Sioux Falls, SD. After their marriage Marvin and Elsie lived in Nobles County most of their married life.  Elsie worked as a cook for the Worthington Country Club and also at the Red Lantern in Reading. She retired in the mid 1980's.
Elsie enjoyed gardening, cooking and loving her family.
She is survived by Ray Dawn Tori Chad Katlyn, Jason DeAnn, Shawn, Ashley Mark Caleb Mason; Randy, (Rebecca) (baby Catherine) Chad, Angie, Dylan, Dominik, Alyvia, Tina, Matt, Harley, Chet, Hannah; Roxanne, Laura, Sydney, Jaxon, Nicole, Dakota, Logan, Avory; Ryan, Stacey, Dawn, Jessie, Kaden, Carter, (baby Madison), Levi, Isaac, Amanda, Josh, Hallie; Rhonda Carlos, Brandi, Patrick, Amber, Frank, (baby Dominick), Scarlet, Sebastian, Silas, William, Cody, Patrice, Carlyn, Prudence, Paisley; Renee, Lyle, Sarah, Will, Emily, Tommy, Michelle, Heather, Ethan, Corey, Corbyn; Robert, Jennifer, Brinnley, Brianna; sister, Louise,  Galen and family; brother, Bob and Diane; sister, Carol Sue, Matt and family, sister-in-law, Carol and many loving friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by husband, Marvin, daughter-in-law, Rebecca, grandchildren, baby Catherine, baby Dominick, baby Madison, brothers, Charlie, Gary and nephew Jerry.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington.
Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 AM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington with Pastor James Sickmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Worthington.
