ELVIN ?BUD? JOHNSON, age 83, of Worthington, died Friday, February 16, 2007, in Oklahoma City, OK, as a result of an automobile accident on his way to winter in Texas. He was born January 23, 1924, in Jackson, to Anton and Alma (Nestegard) Johnson. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1942. Bud entered the United States Navy on February 23, 1943 and served his country during WWII as a Gunner Mate in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific Theater until January 25, 1946. Bud married Joyce Olson October 21, 1946, in Spirit Lake, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived in Jackson. In 1960, they moved to Worthington where Bud worked at Armour Company and owned & operated Bud?s Lawn Service for over thirty years. He was a member of American Lutheran Church, in Worthington; the Worthington VFW; the Worthington American Legion; and the Worthington Eagles Club. He enjoyed gardening & sports. Bud is survived by his three children and their spouses, Gordon & Mary Johnson, Bloomer, WI; Mary Meyer, Worthington; and Rodney & Anne Johnson, Eagan; seven grandchildren, Chad Johnson, Sara (Jeremy) Pank, Ryan Meyer, Julie (Eric) Ebeling, Alison Meyer, Tori Johnson & Cody Johnson; six great grandchildren, Ian, Colton, Jacob, Tyler, Jacquelyn & Jonathan; and a sister, Arlene Rezac, Windom. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; and two brothers, Stanley & Gordon Johnson. Blessed Be His Memory.
