EMERY MULDER, age 92, of Rushmore, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage, in Worthington. He was born November 20, 1921, in Park Rapids, MN, to John and Fanny (Terhark) Mulder. Emery went to country school in the rural Rushmore area and later attended school in Worthington.
Emery was united in marriage to Joan Stearns on November 23, 1945, at the First Baptist Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple moved to a farm east of Rushmore where they farmed and raised their family. They were married for sixty eight years. Emery loved the farm life, so they continued to live on the farm after they retired.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Luverne, where Emery served as a deacon, sang in the choir, and sang duets with his wife. They also sang together for numerous weddings and special occasions. He enjoyed music, visiting with people, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Emery is survived by his wife Joan, Rushmore; twelve children; Tom (Linda) Mulder, Osakis, MN; Mark (Sharon) Mulder, Union Grove, WS; Eunice (Randy) White, Crooks, SD; Lois Bridges, Scotts Bluff, NE; Marcellyn (Gene) Holtorf, Palmer, KS; Jim (Wendy) Mulder, Diamond, MO; Avis (John) Hilger, Lincoln, NE; Robert (Tammy) Mulder, Bailey, Co; Deborah (Randy) Rohwer, Stacey, MN; Kurt (Jody) Mulder, Rushmore; Warren Mulder, Rushmore; Wade (Angie) Mulder, Crooks, SD; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Mulder; forty grandchildren, sixty seven great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Joyce Rust Hoveland, Kenneth (Elaine) Mulder; Gerald (Verna) Mulder; Beverly Greeley; LaDonne Christians; John Jr. (Jean) Mulder; Burdnell (Lois) Mulder; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.
