ERVIN BERGMAN, age 86, of Luverne, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. He was born January 15, 1926, in Ashton, IA, to George and Grace (Olthoff) Bergman. He attended country school near Adrian.
Ervin married Elsie Gerloff on December 10, 1947, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived on the farm southwest of Luverne for three years. They then moved to the farm near Beaver Creek until moving to the home farm northeast of Luverne. They retired in 1982.
He enjoyed farming, especially farm machinery, attending county fairs and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ervin is survived by his son, Dave (Connie) Bergman, Luverne; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bergman, Luverne; three grandchildren, Brian (Tami) Bergman, Kenneth; Brad Bergman, Sioux Falls, SD; and Angela (Tony) Olson, Garretson, SD; five great grandchildren, Ross Bergman, Will Bergman, Elizabeth Olson, Sydney Olson & Collin Olson; and two sisters, Lois Kleine, Luverne; and Bernice (Pete) Kracht, Rock Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsie Bergman, in 2009; and two sons, Lloyd Bergman, in 2005; and Leon Bergman, in 2007.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10 am Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
